R.A.C. MEETING MINUTES 12/27/16
RAC Meeting
December 27, 2016
M I N U T E S
Committee members present: Tim Mosher, Kathy Stone, Charles Franklin, Jo Ann Diana, and Mazie McMahon
Committee members absent: Mary Kendall, Sue Senna
Mazie welcomed everyone to the meeting and then reviewed the meeting guidelines:
1. Cell phones to be turned off
2. One person speaks at a time
3. No interruptions when someone is speaking
The minutes from the November, 2016 meeting were not read as they were posted on the Activity Center and Clubhouse bulletin boards and also on the main and RAC blogs.
Update on Issues Discussed at Last Meeting:
The reflectors issue was posted to the blog. It was noted that some residents have moved their reflectors to an upright position so they are not leaning into the streets. Technically, this wasn’t a RAC issue, but it was something that could easily be taken care of.
Pet Issue – An informational pet notice was posted on the Blog and all of the bulletin boards throughout the community. It will also be posted in upcoming issues of Toppings. Residents are still having problems with dog owners allowing their pets on their lawns and not cleaning up after them.
Update on Issues Discussed with Manager Following Last Month’s Meeting
Some of the bushes at the AC are doing better since the sprinkler system was fixed. However, others are not. Management wants to wait until spring to see if the bushes come back. If they do not, they will be replaced with new bushes at that time.
Outdoor pool heating system – Manager is getting pricing from a couple of vendors to find out how much it will cost to fix the solar panels.
The lock on the storage gate has been fixed and is working.
Street lights on Blvd – 2 do not work and they all need to be cleaned. The maintenance supervisor was instructed to get an electrician in and figure out why they are not working and also to make arrangements to clean the lights.
Feral cats – management has set out some traps. We were informed; however, that they don’t need to do anything about this as it is not addressed in the rules and regulations.
Move lock on outdoor pool main gate for easier disabled access. It’s Florida State law that pool locks need to be at a certain height so that children cannot open them. Management will check on the height requirement and if it can be moved down, it will be.

Pave or put gravel in storage area. We were told that there is a type of dirt that actually cements when you apply it. Management indicated that it was a fairly simple fix and it should be done.
Designated smoking areas at AC, CH and outdoor pool. The smoking area at the clubhouse will be moved outside the sliding doors by the stage area. It is covered. Management will put down more pavers so the grill can be moved down and will put a bench there. RAC needs to discuss with Bob Young about getting the signs needed for smoking and no smoking areas.
New Issues
The following new issues were brought up by committee members and residents:
GFI electrical issue in Clubhouse kitchen – there are none in the entire kitchen. This is hazardous and needs to be addressed with Management as soon as possible.
There is a hole in the Clubhouse ceiling.
Cleaning issues, particularly the bathrooms.
Streets need to be cleaned. At least 2 residents have been hurt because of the acorns in the street, one broke her hip.
Quarterly Meeting with Bob Young
The Committee is scheduled to meet with Bob Young on January 11th at 2:00 in the Activity Center. Items to be discussed are:
Lift for the outdoor pool
Heating the outdoor pool
Resurfacing or replacing the tennis and pickle ball courts. This includes painting the lines so that there are 2 designated pickle ball courts.
Designated smoking and non-smoking areas at AC, CH and Outdoor Poo

Additional Comments
RAC will address the old shuffleboard area with Bob Young at the April quarterly meeting because there isn’t a solid plan yet for what should be done. Additionally, they are looking for more input from residents.
Safety Issue - The sliding glass doors in the Clubhouse were checked on Christmas Day – the tracks had not been cleaned and it was extremely difficult to open them. Follow-up: RAC sent the Manager an email on December 28th about this and asked that this be done before the New Year’s Eve Party.
The issue of pets was brought up again. It was noted that RAC has done all that it can on the issue and that residents should bring this up at the Town Hall Meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 8:14.
